Port Gamble: Only a 1.5 miles north, Port Gamble is the perfect place to spend a morning or afternoon. This privately owned logging town retains its old world charm. With a large farmers market on Sundays, the General Store and Post Office, and many events, Port Gamble has something for all ages. Port Gamble recently became the home for a theater group which has performances on Friday & Saturdays.

Poulsbo: 8 miles South, on the shore of Liberty Bay is the Norwegian village of Poulsbo. Take a day and visit the lively downtown, known as “Little Norway”. Poulsbo has fantastic restaurants, spas and is the perfect place to do your vacation shopping. If you only have time to explore one place on your trip, make sure you head to Poulsbo.

Kingston: Just 13 miles East, Kingston is a wonderful get-a-way. Dining, shopping, and the Saturday morning Farmers Market are always a treat. If you like to golf, make a tee time at the White Horse Golf Club. If beer is more your speed the Hood Canal Brewery is a local favorite. Kingston is also home to the Washington State Ferry terminal that connects to Edmonds, WA on a 20 minute ferry ride or take the Sound Runner passenger only ferry straight to Downtown Seattle, WA.

Suquamish: 20 miles South & East, on Highway 305 the Suquamish tribe has very interesting visitor sites for anyone who wants to learn more about the Native Americans population on the Kitsap Peninsula. Spend a day at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino at the many gaming tables or excellent dining or learn more about the first residents of the area at the Suquamish Museum.

Bainbridge Island: The northern edge of Bainbridge Island is a 21 mile drive. Enjoy the shopping, varied local restaurants and while you’re there see a play or dance performance at the Bainbridge Performing Arts Center. The Bloedel Reserve on the north end of the island is worth visiting year round, take a wine tour at the local winery, visit local art studios and meet the artists or visit a local park with a picnic and watch the sailboats go by.

Silverdale: A 20 minute drive South and only five minutes from the Naval Base Bangor; Silverdale offers the largest shopping facility between Seattle/Tacoma and the Pacific Ocean. The Kitsap Mall area includes department stores, Target, Best Buy, TJ Maax, Ross and many other shopping options. Local favorite restaurants are also a draw to this shopping area. If you're out for the day it's always fun to take a picnic lunch to Old Towne Silverdale and eat on the water front dock of Dyes Inlet or get a massage at one of their many day spas.

Bremerton: The largest city on the Kitsap Peninsula and home to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton is a 30 minute drive South on State Highway 3. Bremerton's downtown features a playful water park, an unguided tour on the retired naval destroyer USS Turner Joy and ample art galleries. New restaurants are opening all the time and coffee is readily available. The Seattle/Bremerton Washington State Ferry terminal is at the edge of downtown and it's an hour ride from Bremerton to downtown Seattle, winding through the Peninsula, islands & beautiful puget sound. The ferry terminal also hosts a foot ferry that crosses between Bremerton & Port Orchard.

Gig Harbor: In the most Southern part of the Kitsap Peninsula, Gig Harbor is the last town you will visit before crossing the famous Tacoma Narrows Bridge into Tacoma. Bring your camera on a clear day and take postcard perfect photos of the marina and the ever radiant Mount Rainier. With shopping, restaurants and the library on the marina, it gives you a chance to relax and take it all in.

Port Townsend: Drive an hour across the hood canal bridge and up Highway 101 to Highway 20 and you'll find yourself in the charming town of Port Townsend. Beautiful walking tours, great downtown shopping, festivals, farmers markets and much more make this a wonderful place to spend the day. Port Townsend also has a Washington State ferry dock taking you to the beautiful Whidbey Island where even more adventures can be found.

Port Orchard: A 45 minute drive South on Highway 3, Port Orchard boasts a world-class marina. As Kitsap County’s first incorporated city, Port Orchard features the state's largest Saturday Farmers Market, great restaurants and unique downtown shopping. Also, all summer long enjoy free music at the gazebo by the marina on Thursday nights.
